Three new ways to experience Italy!
New Guided Bicycle Tours!
As of 2019 Cycle Europe is thrilled to announce its new line of affordable guided cycling tour itineraries in Europe, and we’ve kicked off the summer with new itineraries in the country we know best – Italy! A country rich in diversity – geography, culture, and cuisine vary wildly from one region to the next. Italy is like no other destination, and there’s no better way to explore it than on two wheels.
Pedaling Lake Garda and the Veneto
Discover this grand region of Italy nestled under the Alps
From the azure waters of Lake Garda, through the Veneto’s famed art cities, down to La Serenissima – the majestic city of Venice – this unique itinerary will have you cycling on gentle paths and through breathtaking vistas. If you are interested in history and art, food and wine, traveling slowly through picturesque towns or down charming country lanes, this is the tour for you. This itinerary allows you to explore not just the iconic cities (Verona and Venice) and wine regions (Valpolicella, Amarone, Soave) but you will also discover cities that are still off the tourist radar – Mantova, Vicenza and Padova. These were all home to wealthy families that sponsored art (and famous artists) throughout the Renaissance and are full of hidden treasures to explore. Soak up the beauty of small-town Italy – an evening in San Giorgio is one to remember, based in a villa high up on a hilltop medieval town overlooking Lake Garda in the distance.

Cycling Emilia-Romagna’s Culinary Wonders
Cycle through Italy’s premier pasta and food region
Long known as Italy’s premier pasta region, and maybe its culinary capital, Emilia-Romagna delights in every way – even beyond the palate! Cycling from Parma to Bologna, you will not only taste extraordinary traditional dishes – you will visit Parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegar makers learning about their time-tested methods; sample artisanal gelato; wonder at ancient castles and world-heritage UNESCO sites; and even have the chance to see the Ferrari museum and factory at the car maker’s hometown of Modena. Two-night stays in impressive Parma and quaint Castelvetro di Modena will allow you to slow down and savor this region, as the locals do. Cycling over easy country lanes or using bike paths in and out of the cities, this is a low-difficulty level cycling tour, great for those just getting into bike touring – or for advanced cyclists who want to take it slow and enjoy the food and sights!
